• CDC Director Resigns Showing Conflict of Interest and Big Pharma Influence Still Reigns at the CDC

Readers of Health Impact News are all too familiar with news about corruption inside the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC is responsible, for example, for protecting the nation's health and ensuring that pharmaceutical products like vaccines are safe and effective. Yet, the CDC is also the largest purchaser of vaccines from the pharmaceutical industry, spending billions of dollars of taxpayer funds every year to purchase these vaccines. Many top executives and leaders at the CDC also leave the agency to take very lucrative positions with pharmaceutical companies, revealing a revolving door policy between the government and Big Pharma. A CDC whistleblower that revealed corruption in vaccine autism studies a few years ago still has not been subpoenaed by Congress to testify, and this scandal at the CDC that is seen by some as "Bigger than Watergate" was the focus of the popular film VAXXED which was released in 2016. President Trump announced in his SOTU he intends to give freedom back to the people (the patient) to get drugs and treatments not yet OK'd for use when they are diagnosed with disease that is incurable and death is likely or definite. I think he called it "the right to try." Meaning the right to try to live. I absolutely agree with this on the one hand, but on the other hand this opens much more flow to Big Pharma of money from extremely desperate people. How do we make sure they are not taken advantage of and corruption does not prosper! Very desperate parents trying to save their cancer stricken child will likely do anything, give anything, any way they can to give that child every chance possible. That is only one scenario of many to come with this. As I said, I agree with the right of the dieing but safeguards and oversight need be in place too as we have seen there is much corruption and those who are so evil and greedy do not give a hoot about a dieing child if it means they become richer - or in the event of a researcher, to have major funding and their name in print and praise of their "discovery" in medical journals and pub med (and on resume).
