• Is Trimethylglycine (TMG) the New Super Nutrient?

What some are claiming could be called a super nutrient, or panacea, for many ailments is known as trimethylglycine (TMG) or glycine betaine. TMG was discovered to be beneficial for heart health back in the 1950s because of its ability to reduce high levels of homocysteine, which creates a higher risk for heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes. TMG also contributes to promoting CoQ-10, a heart health coenzyme that hadn’t been discovered until well after the 1950s. But this ability to lower that valid high risk marker for heart disease and promote a heart strengthening co-enzyme are not the only benefits from using TMG. TMG has recently been used for improving conditions like ulcers, arthritis, leaky gut syndrome, diabetes, kidney and heart failure, neurobehavioral disorders, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, and even certain cancers. It is useful for slowing the aging process, inducing better sleep, calming nerves, and improving digestion and immunity.

I have been searching for TMG and its ability to detox glyphosate. I read about it in a book about homocysteine, and it didn't mention the GMO but it did say TMG was created to help livestock tolerate GMO feed, well we know that had to mean Round Up. But I can't find any research specifically on that. I have had gut problems since 2003 when I retook my childhood vaccines to get into nursing school. (Ironic isn't it?) And had 13 years of chronic diarrhea from it, and then in 2009 developed a stubborn duodenal ulcer, was hospitalized for the ulcer in 2011 and then in 2015 with severe anemia, (they gave me 5 pints of whole blood), and then in 2018 perforated bowel which kept me hospitalized for 5 months. Am recovering from that. have been taking my probiotics for 20 years but on my first stool test, was told I had NO bacteria, neither good nor bad. Have been researching glyphosate in relation to perforated bowel and am positive now it has been a major factor. Never used the stuff at home, never used any toxic pesticides or weed killers. I know it's in the food but am now learning it evaporates into the clouds and is now contaminating our rainwater. Do you know the connections between TMG and elimination of Round Up? Or do you have other suggestions.?
