• Alabama DHR Destroys Another Family: Baby Taken Away Because Young Mom was a Foster Child Kidnapped from Loving Parents

All that Shanley wanted for her 20th birthday on February 22 was to get her son back from DHR, and to no longer be considered a foster child herself. Ashton was born while Shanley was in foster care, and when she was kicked out of her foster home last summer at the age of 19, she was not permitted to take her son with her. Alabama social workers tell her that she cannot get him back at this time because they still consider her a foster child, even though she is legally an adult, living on her own with both a job and an apartment. Shanley is not accused of any kind of neglect or abuse, so it doesn't make sense to her that Walker County Department of Human Resources (DHR) refuses to allow her to have her son with her. Shanley was taken out of the home of her parents at the age of 14 because she got pregnant on the night of April 27, 2011, a date that most in the south will never forget, as 252 people lost their lives in the 62 tornadoes across the state of Alabama. Her parents were accused of parental neglect because they had a house full of neighbors that night and did not prevent their daughter from getting pregnant. Her parents and other family members wanted to raise the baby in a loving home, but Alabama DHR did not allow them to raise the baby, and they lost their 14 year old daughter as well.

FYI, at least one of the offices that did respond to my letters regarding the Alabama DHR's abuses did not even know that they were tasked with oversight of the Alabama DHR. Thus, you might need to educate them about their DHR oversight responsibilities (e.g., Executive Order 11).

Shanley I hope you and your son got justice today. If you did not... I beg you to send your story to the dr. Phil show. I know that sounds whacky but seriously he has the contacts to help you get the justice you and your son deserve. This story would bring him great ratings and he'd be all over it. Another thing you could do is contact your local news offiliate and even national news. Get your story out there fast and big. It's the only way to get results in a timely manner. This should have never happened to you. The laws need adjusting. Send your story to President Trump and separately to his wife. They are looking for stories to be heroes of for the ratings. It's sad that our country is like this and we have to go to these measures to find justice. Unfortunately that's the way it is. So go big and go fast!!! Good luck sweet girl. You and Ashton are in my prayers.

Someone needs to have enough balls to stand against this state and there so called laws go after these drug addicts parents or abused but no you take a loving mother treat her like a nobody and kidnap her son really cause u have no reason to keep him so many people r in the wrong here only person in the right is the mother

I think since she has been trying and has stepped up to be mother let her have her child get the ones that hasn't stepped up to be a parent to their child the system is so twisted her child needs her and she needs him give her a chance she has done her part go after the ones that have nobody and don't want their kids people leave the ones that do alone good luck baby girl I hope you get your son back nothing like a mother and child bond .

This is just another page in CPS'S hand book, They always go after children that they kidnapped to go after their children, It's happened to my family, These evil people will stop at nothing to destroy the American family, That is their goal, and the monies to be made as they have a pool of victims to keep there money coming in. This is such a racket that no Senator, or Congress person will touch, They say it's a state problem, the state says it's a fed problem, back and forth, just excuses to do nothing. CPS has nation wide fed funding, and our tax money is being used to kidnap our children, The Clintons started this money making kidnapping machine, with bonuses, to remove our children, adopt them out, what a EVIL circle!!!
